Has anyone here heard of melon pan (メロンパン)? All these years I thought it was bread that tasted like melon. HAHA Ridiculous, right? It turns out that it's a sweet bread, kind of like Hawaiian sweet bread I guess, and that it's just called melon pan (or bread) because of the checkered look on the top. Doesn't really look like a melon to me, but whatever... I guess there are variations and even fillings you can add inside, but the traditional way is plain.
Either way it looks and sound delicious and I wish I could try one! They have recipes online, but I'm not much of a cook. One of these days I'll get my hands on one!!
