Manga Magazines

My Favorite Manga Magazines

    I thought I would share with you guys some of my favorite manga magazines.  These magazines have the manga stories and artwork style that I love the most.  In fact, 97% of my manga comes from these magazines.
    For those who don't know, a manga magazine (sometimes known as a phone book) is exactly how it sounds.  They come out at certain times (some weekly, monthly or bi-monthly) and have a chapter each for a number of different series.  This is how the mangaka (manga author) gets their work known to the public versus people going to a comic store like here in America.  The magazines are organized by genre and age levels.  Most of them are quite thick too as you can see in the picture above.

Here is how each genre is typically categorized:
Bi-shoujo 美少女 = Young Girls or Pretty Girls
Shoujo 少女 = Girls
Josei 女性 = Women
Bi-shounen 美少年 = Young Boys or Pretty Boys
Shounen 少年 = Boys
Seinen 青年 =  Men
Yuri ユリ = Girl x Girl Romance
Yaoi やおい = Male x Male Romance

That's the genres in a nut shell anyways.  Below are my 4 favorite magazines and yes they're all girly manga related. ^_^;

Title: Margaret
Genre: Shoujo
Famous Manga: Hirunaka no Ryuusei, Tsubakichou no Lonely Planet, Usotsuki Lili, Kimi ni Hana no Melancholy, etc...
